Katy mamas, we LOVE spotlighting local women who are building businesses, raising babies, and pouring into our community in meaningful ways. This month, we are so excited to introduce you to Sarah Denman, the heart behind Pebble Path Journal, a passion project turned purpose driven business designed to help families build mindfulness and connection together.
🌿 From Teacher to Mindful Mama Entrepreneur
Sarah was born in Massachusetts, raised in Austin, and met her husband at Baylor University in Waco. He is a Katy native, and after college they made their way back here to plant roots and raise their family. Today they have a 4 year old daughter and a 9 month old son.
Before launching Pebble Path Journal, Sarah and her husband were no strangers to entrepreneurship. They previously ran Denman Trading Company in Old Town Katy and owned and operated Pizza Inn, another local Katy staple. Pebble Path Journal is Sarah’s first solo business and truly her passion project.

As a former elementary school teacher for five years, Sarah blended her background in education with her love for journaling and mindfulness. She meditates and journals daily and has seen significant improvements in her own mental health. When she became a mom, she knew she wanted to intentionally teach her children mindfulness and social emotional skills she wished she had growing up. When she could not find a structured resource for young children, she created one herself.
That is how Pebble Path Journal was born.
✏️ What Makes Pebble Path Journal So Special?
Designed for ages 3 to 7 and meant to be completed alongside a grown up, Pebble Path Journal offers structured, guided mindfulness experiences that build:
• Social emotional skills
• Gratitude practices
• Intentional 5 minute daily connection
• Confidence and emotional awareness
It is a beautiful blend of teacher approved structure and mama heart intention.

🏡 A Day in the Life
Sarah is grateful to have the help of her husband and mother in law so she can focus on growing her business while still being present with her children. Both she and her husband work from home, so flexibility is key.
During breaks, you will find them on nature walks, playing games, or spending time working on her daughter’s journal together. Her daughter often likes to work alongside her doing Khan Academy lessons while Sarah works. Sometimes they get into a great flow. Other times it is time to pause and go for a walk. That flexibility is part of what makes it all work.
💛 The Most Rewarding Part
Creating something from scratch and seeing it bring value to other parents.
Knowing that something she created is making a small but positive impact in another family’s home and in a child’s life is what keeps her going.
⚖️ Balancing Motherhood and Business
Like many entrepreneurial moms, the biggest challenge is finding enough time to get everything done. Sarah leans on the support of her husband and mother in law and gives herself permission to take breaks when her kids need her.
Sometimes that means stepping away from work to go on a walk or sit down and journal together. And that is exactly the heart behind her brand.
💡 Her Advice to Other Moms
Start with something you love.
Pursue something that brings you joy. Investing in your business and your idea is investing in yourself. It is easy to lose yourself in motherhood, and pursuing a passion is a powerful way of reminding yourself that you are worth it.
🌳 Family Fun in Katy
When they are not working, this sweet family loves spending time outside. They have a beautiful trail near their home and go on two to three walks a day. When they are indoors, they enjoy crafts, reading books together, watching shows, and heading out to local favorites like:
• The library
• LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch
We love seeing families who prioritize connection, community, and getting outside.
