At Macaroni KID Katy, we love spotlighting moms who not only balance the busy life of parenting but also pour their energy into businesses that truly serve our community. This month, we’re excited to celebrate two amazing moms—Sparkle Roberts and Sha’Tia Brownell—owners of Rhea Lana’s of West Houston-Memorial.
Together, they are building more than a business. They are creating a community resource where families can find high-quality essentials for their children at affordable prices, while also giving back in meaningful ways.
π Meet Sparkle & Sha’Tia
β¨ Sparkle Roberts is a proud Houston native, mom of five, and a believer in community growth through trust and integrity. She shares life with her fiancé and their children: Malachi (18), Gabriel (16), Dylan (14), Evan (11), and Aria (4). Her family loves sports, movie nights, and enjoying the outdoors. For Sparkle, Rhea Lana’s has provided not only high-quality essentials for her kids but also a mission-driven way to serve her neighbors.
β¨ Sha’Tia Brownell has lived in Texas for 27 years, calling Houston home for the past 14. She and her husband are raising two young children, Everett (6) and Avery (4). For Sha’Tia, Rhea Lana’s has been life-changing—helping her provide quality clothing, shoes, and baby gear at affordable prices so her family can budget for therapies, swimming classes, and other activities her children need.

π‘ Why Rhea Lana’s?
Both Sparkle and Sha’Tia were drawn to Rhea Lana’s because it aligned perfectly with their values.
“Not only do we love to shop,” they shared, “but Rhea Lana’s is a community-driven movement. It champions families, enriches childhoods, and makes high-quality essentials accessible to everyone.”
From affordability to sustainability, their business is more than shopping—it’s about empowering families and creating connections.
ποΈ A Day in Their Lives
Like most moms, their days are busy, messy, and rewarding all at once.
Mornings begin in full mom mode—getting kids ready for school and out the door. Then comes balancing their full-time jobs with running their business: answering emails, social media updates, consignor care, and event planning. Evenings are a mix of consignor pickups, family dinners, extracurriculars, and bedtime routines. And when the kids are finally asleep? It’s back to laptops to catch up on business tasks.
“It’s a juggling act,” they admit, “but it’s worth it because we’re building something that truly helps families.”
π The Best Part
For Sparkle and Sha’Tia, the most rewarding part of their business is simple: people.
Meeting new families, connecting with the community, and partnering with foster families and charitable organizations keeps them grounded. “It reminds us that this isn’t just about sales—it’s about purpose.”

π¬ Advice for Other Moms
“Go for your dreams. Do your research, plan ahead, and build a support network. Balancing motherhood and business takes strategy and compromise, but with the right vision and preparation, you can do it.”
π¨π©π§π¦ Family Fun
When they’re not working, both families love to travel, explore museums, camp, enjoy the beach, and spend quality time together. For them, adventure and togetherness are what it’s all about.
