🌟Mom of the Month: Ashley Owner of Romp n' Roll Katy

At Macaroni KID Katy, we love celebrating local moms who are making a meaningful difference in our community. This month’s Mom of the Month is Ashley, a dynamic business owner, former corporate leader, and proud mom of three, who is bringing energy, learning, and fun to families through Romp n’ Roll Katy & Cypress.

👋 Meet Ashley

Ashley and her husband Simeon moved from the Houston Heights to Katy in 2019, knowing it was the perfect place to put down roots and start a family. Since then, they’ve welcomed three beautiful children:
👧 Sydney (5)
👦 SJ (3.5)
👶 Ashton (2)

Ashley is originally from Mississippi, while Simeon hails from Equatorial Guinea, bringing rich African and Hispanic culture into their home. Their household is also Spanish-speaking, with the kids fluent from an early age. Ashley proudly shares that while Spanish is her second language, it’s become a natural part of their family’s everyday rhythm.

Before stepping into entrepreneurship, Ashley spent over a decade as a Director of Program Management at Fidelity Investments, while Simeon has been with Chevron since 2007.

The Journey to Romp n’ Roll

Ashley first discovered Romp n’ Roll as a parent, and it quickly became a safe, fun space for both her children and herself. “It gave me the flexibility to be involved with my kids while still having time for myself,” she shares.

From attending classes as a mom to enjoying weekend sessions as a family, Romp n’ Roll became more than just an activity—it became a part of their lifestyle. In 2024, the opportunity arose to become owners, and Ashley knew it was the right move for their growing family.

A Day in the Life

Like many moms of littles, Ashley’s days are a blend of mom duties and business ownership. Mornings are all about time with her kids, afternoons involve check-ins with her teams at the Katy and Cypress locations, and evenings return to full-on family mode.“No two days look the same, and that keeps it exciting,” Ashley says.

Most Rewarding Moments

For Ashley, nothing beats the joy on kids' faces when they walk through the doors of Romp n’ Roll.

“I love knowing that we’re creating a space where children can learn, grow, and make memories,” she says. “Even more special is watching my own children experience the joy of Romp n’ Roll alongside other families.”

Real-Life Challenges

Juggling multiple roles is no easy task. Ashley admits, “The hardest part is feeling pulled in many directions.” Her solution? Keeping perspective.

“If everyone is safe, happy, and cared for, then I know we are doing okay. I try to remind myself and other parents to focus on what really matters.”

Ashley’s advice for moms thinking about starting a business is simple but powerful:

“Give yourself grace. Believe in yourself and stay clear on your ‘why.’ It’s a journey, not a sprint. When it gets tough, return to your purpose—that will keep you moving.”

Making the Most of Family Time

Ashley’s family knows how to turn everyday moments into adventures. Whether they’re swimming, laughing in the backyard, or making something simple feel special, their home is filled with fun and love.

“This summer, the kids have turned into little fish,” she laughs. “Some of our best memories are just being together and watching them enjoy their childhood.”
