This month, we’re honored to spotlight a local mom whose personal journey inspired a mission to serve others during one of the most vulnerable seasons of life: early motherhood. Meet Danielle Flannery, Katy native, mom of three, and the heart behind New Mom School Katy.
🌸 Meet Danielle Flannery
Danielle is a born-and-raised Katy girl who returned to her roots to raise her growing family. She met her husband Mason while attending Texas A&M. Together, they’ve built a beautiful life with their three daughters: Callyn (4), Kenzie (2), and newborn Cayden (1 month).
A former KISD teacher with a love for babies, sports, and the beach, Danielle shifted her career path to be more present with her children. She never imagined where her story would lead her next.

💗 From Trauma to Purpose
Danielle’s path to founding New Mom School Katy began with a deeply personal and difficult experience. After a smooth delivery with her second daughter, Kenzie’s health took a sudden and critical turn, leading to an emergency NICU stay and weeks of uncertainty.
During that terrifying chapter, Danielle struggled with fear, trauma, guilt, and the pressures of being present for both of her young daughters. Through extensive support, including therapy, trauma care, and her loving husband and family, she began to heal. Kenzie defied the odds and is now a thriving, joyful toddler.
Out of that emotional journey, Danielle discovered a passion for postpartum mental health and support. “If it weren’t for my therapist and support system, I don’t know how long it would have taken for the real me to come back,” she shares. That’s why she’s now building the community she wished she had with New Mom School Katy.

🍼 A Day in the Life
Life with three little ones is never predictable. Danielle’s days are a balancing act between mom life and business ownership. She carves out focused time with her daughters, then switches gears to work during naps and rest time. Between supporting the backend of the business and joining classes at the studio, her days are full but fulfilling.
“I’m still figuring it all out,” she says. “I try to plan ahead and be as efficient as possible. But it’s a work in progress!”
🌟 Watching New Moms Grow
Danielle’s greatest joy in running New Mom School Katy is watching the confidence of new moms bloom over the course of the 8-week program. “It’s beautiful to see the transformation,” she says. Moms walk in unsure and often overwhelmed, and leave with new knowledge, new friendships, and a deeper belief in themselves.

👩👧👧 Her Advice to Other Moms
Danielle encourages other moms thinking about starting a business to follow their passion. “You’re going to pour your heart and soul into it, so it has to be something you won’t burn out on.” She also reminds moms that balance is something we all work on, and nobody has it figured out perfectly.
🌞 Family Time is the Best Time
When Danielle isn’t leading new moms or juggling toddler life, she and her family love being outside. You’ll often find them at the zoo, enjoying Katy’s parks, or spending time with extended family. These little moments, she says, are what matter most.
